Tuition and financial aid.
- Boarding tuition
- $79,900 for 2026-27 (boarding)
- Day tuition
- $69,900 for 2026-27 (day)
- What tuition includes
- Milton charges a single annual tuition that includes on-campus student experiences and tuition insurance. The school does not charge mandatory fees.
- Extra costs
- Book and supply charges are added separately to each student's incidental account. All students are expected to bring a laptop. Daily bus service, music lessons, cultural exchanges and pre-season athletic trips cost extra.
- Need-based aid
- All financial aid is need-based.
- Meeting need
- Milton strives to meet 100% of the demonstrated need for each enrolled student.
- How need is weighed in admission
- Admission officers first read applications without considering ability to pay. The final phase is need aware, and the committee weighs its decisions against available aid funds.
- Aid at Milton
- Financial aid budget of $16.5 million. 37% of students (Classes I to IV) receive aid, and the average grant is 77% of tuition.
- How need is measured
- Milton defines need as the difference between the total cost of attendance and a family's ability to pay. The assessment looks at income and expenses, assets and liabilities, family size, cost of living and the number of children for whom a family must pay tuition.
- How to apply for aid
- Families apply through Clarity, which typically takes less than 30 minutes. The submission fee is $65.
- Aid deadline
- January 31, 2027
- Parent employment
- Milton expects parents who seek aid to be employed, with exceptions for caretakers of children under five, live-in care for an elderly dependent, or a prohibitive disability.
- Renewal
- Families reapply each year, and grants are expected to renew at the original level unless demonstrated need changes significantly.
- International families
- Financial aid applicants who are not U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents should submit 2024 and 2025 tax documents, and must also submit an employer letter, a bank certificate and November and December 2026 bank statements.
- Payment plans
- Milton offers payment plans that spread expenses over monthly installments during the year.
