Before you enroll

Questions from parents.

Which grades can my student enter?

New students enter in Grades 9, 10 or 11. Boarding applicants can apply to all three. Day applicants from the Greater Boston area can apply to Grades 9 and 10. Grade 11 is the last point of admission.

Are test scores required?

Standardized test scores are welcome but not required, and students without scores will not be disadvantaged.

Is an interview required?

Every candidate must complete an interview by January 15.

What does it cost?

$79,900 for 2026-27 (boarding) $69,900 for 2026-27 (day) Book and supply charges are added separately to each student's incidental account. All students are expected to bring a laptop. Daily bus service, music lessons, cultural exchanges and pre-season athletic trips cost extra.

Does Milton offer financial aid?

All financial aid is need-based. Milton strives to meet 100% of the demonstrated need for each enrolled student.

Does need affect admission?

Admission officers first read applications without considering ability to pay. The final phase is need aware, and the committee weighs its decisions against available aid funds.

Can my student switch from day to boarding later?

Once admitted, a student may not switch between boarding and day status except in special circumstances.
